My brother came to visit me fist semester and spent a day creating his own "48 hour film." Though, he really spent about 4 hours on it. Well, I finally put it together for him taking into account his direction.
I thought that I'd share it with you!

Desktop Dump
I haven't composited any scenes in my film yet. And I have numerous versions of my film in anamatic form on my laptop, all of them titled "final film" or the like. I also think that I have roughly 50 pages of word documents documenting my insanity in trying to come up with a film idea for this year. I have finally settled on a story and I am animating and on my merry way. I guess that this is a learning experience, right? This is just a rough still from a prior version of my film with some color splashed on (which is irrelevant). There isn't too much thought behind it and it is also irrelevant to my film now, but I just thought I'd post it for amusement.

And this is a quick sketch from a superheroes project we had to do for critical studies. This man has an extreme sense of touch and many arms and his favorite book is Pat the Bunny and he works as a coat check. The other members in my group came up with some very cute images too so maybe they will surface on the internet someday too!

Turnaround
I can't believe that it is February 22 already. And I was reminded yesterday that February is a short month, so I feel cheated out of a few days.
Anyway, last year I never did a character turnaround. So here is a character from my film this year, and my first turnaround. They look a little awkward I think, especially the side view. Maybe if I come back to them later, I can work on improving them.

Happy Thanksgiving!
This weekend I went back to Reno for a break. It was nice because I got the chance to catch up with my family, friends and dogs. And because the ski resort weren't really open yet, I spend a lot of time eating a ridiculous amount of food and watching a lot of movies. I saw Silence of the Lambs, Harvey, Citizen Kane, Paprika, Lawrence of Arabia, and Pocohontas. It was Pocohontas on DVD though which means it has that new song/montage in it. And, because I'm a nerd, I realized they toned down the "Savages" song. There is a part at the beginning where Radcliff says (or sings) "Their whole disgusting race is like a curse." In the new version its changed to "Here's what you get when races are diverse." Both just prove that Radcliff is racist, because both comments seem about equally racist. But, whatever Disney. I still love you.
And I finished my layout from last week. I wanted to do something with Amelia Earhart... and practice my gouache.

Film time.
